A wonderful tour on a classic 500 CC Royal Enfield motorbike that takes you across a variety of impressive Sierras; the Sierra de Tejeda, Almijara y Alháma, the Sierra Nevada, the Sierra de Segura, Cazorla y Las Villas and the Sierra de Baza, along the white villages of the Alpujarras, deserted beaches and cozy tapas bars and restaurants, away from the tourist crowds, among the locals.
Pick up at 10 am at the airport or at 10.30 am at Plaza de la Merced in Málaga for those who have already arrived. Transfer to Finca Don Carmelo to get acquainted with your motorbike. We set off on a scenic ride to the Alpujarras, the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, on beautiful, winding asphalt roads that are as even as a billiard table. We take the famous Ruta de la Cabra (the route of the goat) from Granada to the Costa Tropical. This road is known as one of most loved roads for motorbikes.
We Spend the night in the idyllic mountain village of Capileira that, together with Bubión and Pampaneira, forms the picturesque threesome of ‘pueblos blancos’ of the Poqueira Valley.
After breakfast we leave for a long and breathtakingly beautiful ride through the nature park of the Sierra Nevada. We make a stop in Spain’s highest village, Trevélez, which is known for its ham houses where the famous Iberian jamon serrano is cured. After lunch we ride through a landscape that seems to have been plucked out of a Wim Wenders film; colourful rock formations, deep gorges and lonely asphalt roads make you feel like you’re in Arizona.
After breakfast we take time to visit the two 16th Century sister cities, Baeza and Úbeda, which - quite unusual for Andalucía - were built almost entirely in Italian Renaissance style. We ride through a vast and hilly area of sandy hills peppered with olive trees towards the wild nature park of Cazorla.
We take our lunch in Cazorla, a stunningly located village at the foot of the rugged Sierras de Segura, Cazorla y Las Villas. From here we climb on along pine forest clad mountains to our hotel, a former monastery, in the middle of the nature park.
We ride southeastward, past the natural park of Baza and Guadix with its cave dwellings and this time we pass the Sierra Nevada - with its 86,000 hectares the largest national park in Spain - along the eastern slopes. We ride across the deserted and tranquil Sierra de Baza and reach an altitude of more than 2300 meters; it is one of the most impressive sights you will see during this trip. We stay in a very attractive hotel that was once an ancient, white washed hamlet.
Today we ride back to Periana via the winding coastal road along the Mediterranean. We have a coffee or lunch with our feet in the sand of the beautiful beach near Almuñecar.
After lunch we ride along the Ruta Mudéjar with its spectacular bends to our own picturesque olive clad hills where we spend the last night not far from Lake La Viñuela.
After breakfast we ride the bikes back to Finca Don Carmelo. Transfer to the airport of Málaga.
